That said, I suspect it might be because she basically had her spirit ripped out and it probably messed her up bad. This is a bit iffy, open to interpretation. The True Ending (collect all the spirits of the children) shows Shadow Six looking at a picture of what appears to be the Maw, as if that's their next destination. The Thin Man pulling out Six's soul is implied to be how Shadow Six was created, along with why she has hunger pangs in the first place (she was fine the whole game until then). It's heavily implied this is a prequel to Little Nightmares 1. I'm wondering though, with the ending of Little nightmares being as is, Six now has her own powers, so will she maybe return and try to save Mono, now that she's dealt with her hunger issue? Or y'know, say screw that guy. That shade is like some kind of curse as a result of that distortion. On a separate note, I think it's safe to say Six is probably the only one who was taken/distorted and returned/restored from the Transmission. I think the game made it a point that he wouldn't wear anything else after discarding the bag initially. fairly skinny and slightly more angular facial structure and dark eyes." from the wiki, so it's possible that Six, who's known to be pretty smart, would be able to see the resemblance, however old.Īnother interesting note that may or may not be related is how Mono wore the bag to forget that the world hated him and wanted him to fail, but even though he rebelled in the end to save Six, it might've been the discarding of it in the first place that allowed the cruelty he hid from to manifest so profoundly when she made the connection and choice to let him fall either in vengeance, or perhaps the impending hunger pangs. I go with the recognition route because his description is noted as ". I'm pretty sure it's that loop and cycle of revenge that speaks more to the game's themes, therefore I'm in the loop of She dropped him do to noticing the similarities in his face and probably realizing he was the Thin Man, and he became the Thin Man because she dropped him. However, she didn’t START evil - her abduction by the Thin Man made her evil. The game is definitely a prequel - this is proven in the scene where six finds her raincoat and the secret ending - which means Six is basically a possessed mega villain by the end of the first game.

Then in the secret ending it’s shown that the hunger that overcomes her is borne of the dark TV spirit and continues to be a problem for her from that point forward. Something changed in that moment, and it’s her realization of who you are. Up until that point, Six is more than willing to help you when she could have left you to die. At the last second while holding his hand she sees his face for the first time and realizes who he is, letting him go and unwittingly committing him to his fate. Six is captured by the Thin Man and transformed into some kind of monster. Mono literally has a bag in his head the entire game for no obvious reason. This is the only theory I’ve seen so far that actually makes sense and seems to be implied by the games narrative presentation.

Their actions are a simple product of a never-ending time loop with no beginning. Which came first? You'd think Six dropping Mono, right? But why would she drop him if it weren't for the Thin Man? Six drops Mono because he's the Thin Man, and Mono becomes the Thin Man because Six drops him. Six letting Mono fall is completely reasonable - she thinks he's going to turn her into the monster! And then, Mono becoming the Thin Man is completely reasonable, because it's possible he never realizes why Six let him fall at all. I thought it was actually a really good ending. Mono comes to the rescue, and again Six lets him fall because she realizes he's the Thin Man. Thin Man chases Mono and Six (Presumably for revenge against Six), abducts her, turns her into the monster, etc. Mono falls, and over time becomes the Thin Man.

Six realizes Mono is the Thin Man then, and lets him go. That's when she pauses, and sees his face (probably for the first time, because he's not wearing a hat).

They escape the Thin Man and run, jump - and Six catches Mono. Mono comes to the rescue, and there was a weird emphasis on not being able to have him wear a hat during this segment of the game. The way I interpreted it is the Thin Man abducts Six, tortures her, turns her into the monster, etc. She prioritizes herself above others, but is fully capable and willing of helping others. Six is an anti-hero, that's been pretty well-established.
